As I reflect on another year of life, I’m reminded that the journey isn’t just about where you’ve been. It’s about what you do with where you are—and the impact you leave behind.

“Life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.”

I’ve learned that I don’t need everyone to like me. I just need to stay true to who I am and live with dignity.

“I’m not concerned with your liking or disliking me… All I ask is that you respect me as a human being.”

“Many people resented my impatience and honesty, but I never cared about acceptance as much as I cared about respect.”

Because at the end of the day, the greatest thing I can carry with me isn’t money, titles, or recognition.

“The most luxurious possession, the richest treasure anybody has, is his personal dignity.”

The journey hasn’t always been easy. There have been losses, setbacks, frustrations, and moments when I questioned the path. But I’ve always believed in finishing what I started.

“This ain’t fun. But you watch me, I’ll get it done.”

“Above anything else, I hate to lose.”

And maybe that’s what drives me—not simply the desire to win, but the refusal to give anything less than my best.

“It kills me to lose. If I’m a troublemaker, and I don’t think that my temper makes me one, then it’s because I can’t stand losing. That’s the way I am about winning, all I ever wanted to do was finish first.”

But 42 has taught me something else: you can’t live forever in yesterday.

“How you played in yesterday’s game is all that counts.”

So, I’m grateful for the lessons, the victories, the losses, the people I’ve impacted, and the people who have impacted me.

Now, I’m looking ahead.

Still exploring.
Still growing.
Still chasing the next view.
Still getting it done.
