Better Beings
A wellness company aimed at educating, empowering and inspiring people to take charge of all aspects.
I started Better Beings in the late 90s, primarily providing 1:1 personal training services. This was a relatively new field, and I was advised that after a few months, I may have to get a "real Job." In the past 25 years, the business has evolved to include corporate wellness trainings, community based education, and various forms of lifestyle transformation challenges. I am proud to say I have t
At times I’m accused of being a know-it-all 🤨
I don’t know it ALL but I know a decent amount when it comes humans🤷♀️
Knowledge born out of decades of my own curiosity to understand both the “why” and the “how”.
If something doesn’t make sense I’m inclined to explore possibilities. I’ll typically discover that I

My first visit to San Francisco was in 1998-a Christmas trip with my sister hoping the December rain would drown out the emotions of my recently shattered heart💔
Last weekend I returned to visit my friend Sara. We have a rich history going back to when I was 18 and she 23. At the time the age gap was felt significant, but for some reason she included me in her life and a deep bond was formed. Pre-social media we stayed connected as best we could and recently have dedicated efforts to strengthen the connection.
This trip was a complete 180 from the first. Rather than running away from a broken heart I ran in with a full one. The 3 days could not have been more perfect. Mother Nature treated us to 70 sunny degrees, a slight breeze, beautiful sunrises, and stunning evenings🌙
The agenda was filled with a variety of activities
✅Farmers market
✅Ferry ride
✅Friends
✅Food
✅Fitness
A community art performance and equally notable attendees made for plenty of fodder.
But the best moments were found in the every day – casual conversations, making meals, indulging in our mutual love for true crime TV
This weekend highlighted 2 things specifically
👉Nothing is permanent. In 1998 the future I was envisioning disintegrated without my permission. The life I had planned was not what was planned for me and I was left to figure things out one step at a time. I didn’t recognize it then, but I now understand it was that experience that first led me to live life by design, not default.
👉I’m incredibly fortunate to have people in my life who get me. They appreciate my unusual ways of doing life. I know I can be a lot, but they embrace it and inquire with curiosity not judgment. Some even call it inspiring🤗
I get all the feels when I spend time with someone who matters. A little melancholy leaving the energy that fills my soul, but mostly grateful for the magic of a treasured friendship. It reinforces my commitment to devote time and effort where it makes a mutually beneficial impact.
As the pace of life accelerates, I will not forget to pause and reflect on what a full life this can be🌎
Thank you Sara McVey for being part of my design 👯

As a former competitive gymnast, I know all too well how balance and alignment go hand-in-hand.
If I was out of alignment, I was off the beam🫠
The same applies in life🤗
If actions are out of alignment with your values and priorities, you’re going to feel off-balance.
Eventually, something will suffer😬
👉Your pursuit of goals
👉Your health
👉Your self-esteem
👉Your sense of pride
To create balance
✅Clarify priorities and values
✅Commit to learning
✅Evaluate and adjust

You didn’t get this way overnight.
It took you 40, 50, 60 years to get your body where it is right now. Decades of stress, decades of processed food, decades of sitting instead of moving, decades of sleep you didn’t prioritize.
There is no magic pill to undo that overnight
But MAKE Wellness Bioactive precision peptides will start to unravel that by restoring the body’s signaling systems. They tell your cells to perform specific functions — repair, regulate, optimize.
The signals need receptors that are listening. If you’ve spent decades running your body into the ground, a lot of those receptors are sitting dormant.
The longer you stay consistent on MAKE, the more those receptors wake up and start responding. The system continues to recalibrate as you continue to provide the real signal.
Give your body the same amount of time to heal that it took to get broken down — okay, not literally, but you get the point. Consistency is what activates the system. Commitment to the process is what brings the results. Quitting early because you didn’t “feel” anything is a patience problem.
You put in 40 years to get here. Put in 120 days to get out.

I set out to live life by design, but there are some things you have absolutely no say in.
Who your parents are might be the single most influencing factor in the trajectory of your own life.
My sister and I often marvel at how lucky we are to be born to these two.
When my dad was stationed in the Air Force, drawing the 10 of hearts was his ticket to getting stationed in the Netherlands🇳🇱🌷
The rest is history and today my parents are celebrating 60 years of marriage🥂❤️
It’s a number few will ever see, but what’s truly remarkable is they love each other as much today as they did 60 years ago. To this day he still refers to her as his bride.
I can’t remember exactly when, but it struck me that every time they’re out, they’re holding hands👫
I wrote these lyrics, which are a tiny snippet of their story.
Please join me and Nicolle Zellner in celebrating they’re everlasting, love and commitment🫶
