My Dad has seen every version of me.

The little girl who barely understood what was happening.

The child he had to raise.

The teenager who was trying to find herself.

The university student who came home with stories, problems, victories and everything in between.

And now, the woman I'm slowly becoming.

We've literally grown through different seasons of life together.

He's seen me at my best and at my most confused

And through all those versions of me, he has remained Dad.

When I think about everything we've been through together, I realize that his birthday isn't just a celebration of another year of his life.
It's also a celebration of us. โค๏ธ

Happy birthday Daddy, I love you with everything in me, and I always willโค๏ธ

My Dad's birthday series Contd.

For the first time in 18 years, my Dad is having what might be his easiest year yet ( more to come, Inshallah ๐Ÿ™)

For as long as I can remember, Iโ€™ve watched him work so hard and honestly, it wasnโ€™t always easy.

You would always find my Dad and I calculating, planning and strategising, โ€œHow are we going to do this? How are we going to pay that? (First daughter Syndrome ๐Ÿ˜‚)

I remember my final year in school. Things became really difficult, but as always, God came through for us.

This year, my younger sister made it to her final year in the Uni, and as someone who had been here before, I understood even more clearly how much pressure this season can bring.

My Daddy had already started planning. He wan use call finish me. What are we doing first, is it rent or fees, I just told him, Daddy calm down, time still de ๐Ÿ˜‚.

And somehow, God did his thing and our small madam bills were cleared. This is the first time in 18 years, my Dad didn't have to do it himself ๐Ÿฅน
When I told my Dad it was settled, you could hear the relief in his voice. He literally exhaled ๐Ÿ˜ญ

The person sitting beside me asked, โ€œWhy did he react like that?. I simply told her, You wonโ€™t understand.โ€

Because for the past 18 years, this man has carried so much of this responsibilities on his own. So to have me help carry it, even just a little bit, meant so much to him.

And honestly, that moment meant so much to me too.
Because this is the kind of thing I want to be able to do for my Dad โค๏ธ

After watching him sacrifice, struggle and work so hard for us all these years, I want to make life a little easier for him in all the ways I can.
I want him to experience the same kind of relief he has given me so many times.

And this is the biggest reason I want to succeed. Not basically for me, but for him โค๏ธ

God if you bless me this year, I go bless Dada at home ๐Ÿ™

In my humble opinion, I think business owners really need to start paying attention to who they leave their businesses in the hands of, especially when it comes to sales attendants.

I went to a shoe store in Uyo recently. The store was well stocked, and honestly, they had really nice and quality stuff. But the attitude of the sales girls? Very disappointing.

I spoke to one of them and asked her to help me look for the other pair of a shoe I wanted. She didn't respond. I called another person, and after ignoring me for a while, she eventually said, โ€œWait, I'm coming.โ€ Meanwhile, nobody was actually doing anything.

And it wasn't just me. I heard other customers complaining about the same thing.

Like, girl, you see me walk into this store ready to buy, and you're looking at me somehow, snubbing me and acting like attending to me is beneath you.

And the funny thing is, with the amount you're being paid as a sales girl, I'm sure you can't comfortably walk into this same store and buy some of the things customers come in here to buy.

So why the attitude? Why make someone who is literally helping your employer pay your salary feel unwelcome?

I'm not saying this to disrespect sales attendants or suggest that someone's salary determines how they should treat people. It doesn't. But if you're being paid to represent a business, customer service is part of the job.

Personally, I got the shoe I wanted and even got a snicker I didn't plan for because it was too fine, BUT I won't be buying from that store again.
And yes, my decision alone will not scratch the business. But imagine 2, 3 or even 5 customers making that same decision because of the way they were treated.

That's how businesses gradually lose customers without even realising it.

I even wanted to leave a review, only to discover that the same salespersons are the ones managing the business's online platform. So I just left it.
Because how do you see someone walk into your store ready to buy and treat the person like they're disturbing you?

Customer service matters.

The quality of your products can bring people through the door, but the experience they have can determine whether they will ever come back.

Business owners, please check on your businesses. Don't assume everything is fine because sales are still coming in. Talk to your customers. Monitor your staff. Ask for feedback. And make sure the people representing your brand actually understand what that responsibility means.

You may have the best products in town, but if customers consistently feel unwelcome, they will eventually take their money somewhere else.

Peace โœŒ๏ธ

On today's episode of things I didn't understand as a child, that I now fully understand as an adult.

I remember one particular day from my childhood, I was in my JSS1, I was sick and had to be brought home from school.

Not long after, my younger sister who was still in nursery school at the time was also brought home sick.

Then, I didn't think much of it. I was just a child. All I knew was, my sister and I were both sick and Daddy's taking care of us.

But now that I am older, I think about that day differently.
What was going through my Dad's mind?
How did he feel when one child came home sick, and then another one followed?
Was he scared?
Was he overwhelmed?

I probably only saw Daddy doing his duty
I didn't see the worry
I didn't see the weight of single parenting
But I now fully understand what it meant to carry that kind of responsibility alone.

I don't know how he did it.
But I'm grateful he did โค๏ธ

My Dad's 2026 birthday is in 4 days, and it's not just a celebration of another year of his life, but also a celebration of us and everything we've been through.

My life Vs others life ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

09/15/2026

Sometimes, life reminds you that rest is also part of the plan. โค๏ธ

And as someone who is always thinking about health, productivity, showing up and getting things done, Iโ€™m learning that taking care of yourself also means knowing when to slow down.

Today, breakfast came at 12:07Pm. Very unlike me.
I ate. I listened to my body. And that counts too.

Happy new week
