Does she get highlights? is it fully natural? That’s one secret I’ll never tell 🤫

I used to naively think that achieving highlights that look super subtle natural was easy, and the truth is that it can be… when you know what you’re doing after YEARS behind the chair, proper education, and making basically every mistake in the book 😅 It’s because of all that I know that I am able to create a custom color for each client with how I place each foil, apply my lightener, the technique I use, how I glaze the hair, etc.

When I say “custom”, I mean CUSTOM! All to create the perfect result for each guests 🫶🏻

One of my favorite parts of my job is learning about y’all’s jobs & lives (corny I know). I am always so inspired by the incredibly people that sit in my chair and their stories. It is also so cool to be able to see that while everyone has VERY different lives, getting our hair done is something everyone has in common as a form of self expression. 🤍

Not your typical “College Blonde”

Yes, we brighten her up in between semesters. Yes, she is living her best college girlie life. We just keep her blonde a bit more natural & dimensional (but still bright), so she isn’t dealing with a harsh growout 2 weeks into the semester!

Everyone who sees her is going to ask themselves “Does she get her hair colored? No that’s 100% her natural… right?” 😉

I got to do 2 of my favorite things at this appointment. First, have a good yap session & catch up on life. Second, created a seamless, natural blended highlight using Airtouch! What more could a hairstylist ask for?

Fresh Color + a New Haircut and now she is a whole new woman 🤎 When my sweet client showed me the new haircut she was wanting I thought 2 things:
1) This is the PERFECT haircut for her and
2) Liz Arnold | Cedar Park Hairstylist | Haircuts + Balayage was the far better person to cut it 😅

So we did just that! Liz gave her this incredible modern s**g with lots of soft texture, and I refreshed her color with dimensional highlights (but still keeping her brunette) and blending in her grays!! It’s true that teamwork makes the dream work!

I SEE RED ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 Swipe for a peek at the process (talk about a jump scare)!! To get her from her natural dark base + highlights to this gorgeous bright copper red, we had to first lighten her natural. Which is the crazy orange-picture in the middle!

Don’t get me wrong, one of my favorite things to do behind the chair is create beautiful coppers only using color (aka no lightener); however, with the inspo pics she sent me, I knew that we would need to lighten it some to get her as bright as she wanted.

So, we got to work! Making sure to not over lighten & protect the already light pieces, coloring, & actually re-coloring to create this vibrant copper red♥️
