According to her family, Adut is a resident of Green Mountain (Jebel Akadar), Daraja. The family is appealing to members of the public to assist in locating her and safely bringing her home.

🔥 OPINION | IS JUBA THE WHOLE OF SOUTH SUDAN?

Mr. Yai has reportedly been “elected” President of the newly formed South Sudanese Comedians Association.
But honestly, elected by who? 🤔

Who were the other candidates? Who voted? Where were the comedians and representatives from the other nine states and three administrative areas?

Because if the entire process happened in Juba, then we need to ask a very simple question:

Since when did Juba become South Sudan? 🇸🇸

You cannot sit in Juba, pick someone, then wake up and tell comedians across the country that their president has been “elected.” That is not democracy; that is imposing leadership on people who were never given a seat at the table.

If you want to create a national comedians' association, then act like it is national. Bring representatives from all states and administrative areas, allow them to nominate candidates, campaign and vote.
Otherwise, stop dressing an appointment up as an election.

And this is where the process begins to smell of corruption, favoritism and dictatorship. A few people cannot hijack an entire industry and claim to speak for everyone.

South Sudan is bigger than Juba. And South Sudanese comedians are bigger than a handful of people sitting in one room deciding their leadership.

If the election was genuine, then let them publicly explain: 👉🏾 Who contested? 👉🏾 Who voted? 👉🏾 Which states were represented? 👉🏾 How were the delegates selected? 👉🏾 Where was the consultation with comedians outside Juba?
