He worked at the same factory for 35 years never late never absent. He trained younger workers fixed broken machines and stayed overtime often unpaid.

But when the company announced mass layoffs he wasn’t surprised when his name was on the list. He did not argue he simply nodded and said I understand.

On his last day, there was no celebration no thank you speech. Just an HR assistant handling him a white envelope. Inside was his final paycheck. Just enough for a few weeks of food and rent. As he stepped out of the factory gate for the last time. He looked back at the building that took most of his life, no tears no bitterness only a quiet thought. I gave my best years to this place. But i never built anything for myself.

Be loyal to your job but never forget to invest in your own future. Because one day they may let you go. And all you'll have is what you gave yourself.
