Why Parents Yell??

How to remain calm and peaceful when you face a child who is throwing her tantrum?

There are multiple times that I try desperately to cool myself whenever I face with my child. Running our of patience is always my struggle.

It’s difficult to watch a child struggle with intense emotions. Sometimes it feels so painful to watch your child hurt that you wish it would all go away. This is when you find yourself trying to squash the emotion by saying, “You’re fine” or “Stop crying” or “This isn’t a big deal” or “Too bad.”

But, in the past, when I tried to squash the emotion, I never gave my son the chance to cope, develop self-control, or calm himself. One excellent way to help kids learn to cope on their own is to meet them right at the emotion.

You can say things like…

”It’s disappointing when you have to leave the toy shop.”

“It’s disappointing when you have to say good night with your friends and go to bed at night.”

“It’s disappointing when you can't have ice cream this time.”

It is vital to create a positive environment in this Pandemic moment.

Let loving and kindness be the foundation in our family. Educating our children with love ❤️ instead of stress and fear 😇.
