Today I want to tell you something really important: never trust the front label of a hair product.
Front labels are marketing. The truth is always on the back.
When a product says professional, it doesnât mean itâs good for your curls.
Some of these formulas are designed to perform beautifully today in the salon, but when you keep using them at home, they can cause dryness, breakage, or buildup.
Just because something is marketed for curly hair doesnât mean itâs curlâfriendly.
Many âcurlyâ products contain heavy filmâforming ingredients that coat the hair and scalp.
They make your curls waterproof, sticky, flaky, itchy⌠and then you wonder why your hair wonât hydrate anymore.
When a conditioner says sulfateâfree â of course it is.
Conditioners donât contain sulfates in the first place.
Itâs just marketing.
Natural ingredients on the front label donât mean the formula is clean.
They can add one drop of aloe and still fill the rest with harsh, drying ingredients.
So again â check the back.
When a product says siliconeâfree, sometimes theyâve replaced silicone with something even heavier, even harder to wash off, or simply renamed it.
Donât let the front label fool you.
Always, always read the ingredient list.
If it feels too complicated â use apps that analyse ingredients for you.
And once you find products that truly work for your curls, stick with them.
Your hair will thank you.
