Life has been HECTIC lately. Between tattooing, teaching, planning and opening a new clinic 👀👀👀 I feel like my brain can’t catch a minute 😂

I have a backlog of content to make and post, but behind the scenes I’ve been busier than ever.

BROW MODEL QUERIES 💚

Just a little clarification for anyone enquiring about our PMU model slots.

PLEASE MESSAGE US DIRECTLY
If you only comment underneath a model post, we may not see your comment straight away and we’re unable to properly assess your suitability through the comments.

Before confirming any model appointment, we need to speak with you privately, ask some prescreening questions and usually request clear photographs of your brows/skin. This allows us to make sure the treatment is suitable and can be carried out safely.

MODEL SPACES ARE FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED
A comment on a post does not reserve a model space. Your appointment is only secured once we have completed the relevant prescreening and confirmed your booking with you.

PREVIOUS BROW TATTOOING / PMU
For eyebrow tattooing models, particularly hairstroke brows, we require previous pigment to have faded almost entirely from the skin.

If there is still a visible hue, shape or residue from previous PMU, unfortunately you will not be suitable for a student model appointment.

Our students need as close to a blank canvas as possible so that they have the artistic freedom to correctly map, design and tattoo the brows from scratch. Existing pigment can restrict this process and can also compromise the final healed result.

AGE REQUIREMENTS
For student model appointments, we generally require models to be aged 18–45.

This isn’t because PMU cannot be performed safely or beautifully on clients over 45. However, as skin matures it can present additional considerations including:

• Increased vascularity
• Reduced collagen and elasticity
• Skin laxity
• Increased fragility or sensitivity
• Changes in skin thickness and texture

Mature skin is considered a more advanced skin type within PMU and requires an artist who is confident and experienced in adapting their technique accordingly.

As a training academy, we have a responsibility to select models who are appropriate for the current skill level of the student carrying out the treatment. This protects our models, gives our students the best possible learning experience and allows them to build their confidence safely.

SKIN SUITABILITY
Not every skin type will be appropriate for every student treatment or technique.

Active acne, significant texture, enlarged pores, excessive oiliness, compromised or irritated skin and certain other skin conditions may mean that you are unsuitable for a particular model appointment, especially hairstroke work.

Please don’t be offended if we advise that you aren’t suitable for a model slot. Being unsuitable as a student model does not necessarily mean that you are unsuitable for PMU altogether. It may simply mean that your skin, existing pigment or individual circumstances require treatment by a more experienced artist.

Model appointments are training sessions first and foremost, which is why our selection criteria are much stricter than they would be for a standard client appointment.

When I have someone who has a natural cowlick on one side, I add some extra fluffies to the bulb of the flatter side, and less longer ones to the bulb of the already fluffy one - so when it heals, it has more balance ❤️
