I know these posts can sometimes come across a bit like…
“You’re 30 now, time for this.”
“You’re 40, better add this in.”
“You’re 50, here’s your shopping list.”
Absolutely not.
Age can give me a rough idea of what changes I might expect to see, but it doesn’t tell me what you need.
I’m looking at your skin, your movement, your structure, what’s changed, what hasn’t, what you’ve had before and what actually bothers you.
That’s why two women the same age can walk into clinic and leave with completely different treatment plans.
And yes, sometimes my recommendation is to leave well alone for now.
I’d much rather tell you that than treat something just because I can.

Obviously there are other areas of my life considerably less impressive, but conveniently they didn’t make the carousel.
Making this did give me a rare moment of thinking… actually, I’m pretty damn good at what I’ve got going on.
Which feels wildly uncomfortable to type because self-praise makes me want to crawl inside myself.
But I bloody love both of my jobs, so I suppose that helps.
I’ve even learnt to love the diabetes. Character building and all that.
Would still give my left kidney for a functioning pancreas though.
Kinda chic.
