I have just wrapped up a corporate booking, and what a lovely day it turned out to be. Fully booked, with around twelve members of staff each coming through for a 30-minute massage. I hope every one of them has gone back to their desk feeling a good deal lighter than when they sat down.

We are often taught to treat rest as something we have to earn, a treat saved for the far end of a long list. The trouble is that the list rarely reaches its end, so the pause we keep promising ourselves keeps drifting further out of reach.
Looking at it another way helps. Rest is part of how you do good work in the first place, rather than a prize handed over once everything is finally done. When you are properly rested, what you give comes more easily and holds up far better over time. Your best is the most you can offer while staying well, rather than everything that can be drawn out of you until there is nothing left.

Throwback to the faces, the places and the little moments that have stayed with us over the years.
