As cases of an explosive diarrhea-causing parasite continue to rise across the U.S., lettuce-based salads may be off the table until the source is found.

As of July 13, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention noted that it had received 1,645 reports of cases in 34 states, including 141 hospitalizations. The very next day, however, the agency issued a statement acknowledging that the true number of cases is likely far higher, adding that there are 5,100 cases that require further analysis to confirm a cyclosporiasis diagnosis.

The source of the outbreak is unclear, but there are some signs that lettuce may be involved. http://spklr.io/6006EP5py

150 MINUTES OF WEEKLY MODERATE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REDUCES YOUR RISK OF NONCOMMUNICABLE DISEASES - FROM DIABETES TO HEART DISEASE TO CANCER.

Many of the most beneficial forms of physical activity are free and can be built into everyday life.

Walking, cycling, taking the stairs, stretching at home or spending time in parks and green spaces can all contribute to better health.

Just 150 minutes of moderate activity per week significantly reduces the risks of noncommunicable diseases ( ) – from diabetes to cardiovascular diseases to cancer.

Yet many people still face barriers to being active, including a lack of safe spaces, accessible infrastructure or opportunities close to home.

This is why policies matter. Investments in walkable communities, cycling networks, public spaces and active transportation help make physical activity accessible to everyone—regardless of age, income or background.

Moving more should be the easy choice.
