And now we’re back to your regularly scheduled programming. After the past 3 days of highly concentrated delicious eating, lots of drinking, and catching up on sleep, it’s now time to refocus on my health.

They key for me is to not let guilt come into the picture over the holidays. I came, I ate, I conquered. I actually like the way eating healthy makes me feel and I’ve learned how to make food taste good, it starts with using great ingredients. Focusing on organic, local, and seasonal food, eating mostly plants, and not eating too much. Staying away from processed ingredients, keeping the booze on the DL, and incorporating manageable amounts of consistent exercise on a daily basis. I’m not shooting for the moon here folks, just aiming to keep my heart pumping strong.

I am very proud to be the manager of a brand new place on Queen St. West called that opened this week! After 6 years of working as a hostess, bartender, server, and event coordinator at various places around Toronto I now have a place to call my own.

I’ve taken many turns and falls and changed directions completely since graduating high school and focusing on dance. I feel like I’ve finally found my place with people I love. Thank you Dee for giving me this opportunity and trusting me with your vision.

Today was a busy day balancing multiple projects but I was very thankful for the past few days of practicing positive thinking and healing energy! It’s only been a week but I truly feel a difference.

Life is always going to hit you with obstacles and challenges but it is 100% within your power to control how you feel. Gaining that control takes self discipline and dedication. It’s very easy to let the negativity in, especially when you surround yourself with negative people. Sometimes you need to take a serious look at who you’re spending your time with and reevaluate how it’s making you feel. You’re worthy of your dreams. You just need to get out of your own way!

Try stoping and taking a breath to check yourself when you get frustrated or instantly upset this week and change your mood by saying something you’re thankful for out loud.

Stopped by the Toronto Christmas Market with my husband for a much needed outdoor stroll. It’s so hard to get out during the winter months but we had an unusually sunny Sunday, so I’ll take that as a blessing.

Getting your activity during the cold winter months is a STRUGGLE sometimes. Make sure to take Vitamin D supplements and have your favourite go-to home workout videos at your fingertips. A solid playlist doesn’t hurt either! I just started Blogilates December calendar & the Challenge after not working out for a very long time. I’m sore af but damn I feel so proud of myself! The endorphins are partying at a very high level!

I’m taking responsibility for my energy!
It is my duty to prepare myself for each day by making sure I start the day vibrating at a high positive frequency. Otherwise I will be sending my negativity out onto others. I’m stopping the cycle of “this person was so mean to me, I’m in such a bad mood now.” Let’s do this together and shift the energy around us! Are you in?

Here’s what I’ve been doing. When I wake up, I take a few minuets to breathe without opening my eyes or making sound. Just becoming aware of my presence in reality after dreaming all night. I have lucid dreaming so this is essential for me to transition into reality. Once I’ve cleared my mind from my sleep activity, I open my eyes, take in my surroundings, and think of a few things I’m grateful for. Then, after getting out of bed I either put on music or an awakening/vibrant essential oil into my diffuser to set the tone for the day. As I’m getting ready I begin to increase my range of movement and start dancing. I make myself laugh by allowing my brain to think of silly things and give myself permission to be free. I usually take breakfast in the form of a protein shake (vegan & gluten free even though I’m not a vegan or have an issue with gluten, it just makes my day start clean and fresh) and I head out the door ready to take on the day and help others have a better day.

It’s a daily practice of changing our reactions and mentality to negative or difficult situations. I promise you that even thinking about making this change will make a difference.
