Toning is multifaceted!

•It helps to remove unwanted brassiness from the hair after a lightening process.

•It can add warm, cool or natural tones to the hair.

•It also helps to close up the cuticle of the hair after lightening by shifting the ph of the hair so it lies smooth.

Toning is an under appreciated service that some may even skip. Even toning with a clear coat (if tonal shift is not necessary) can be so beneficial and I would even say essential to finishing off a lightening service.

Taking proper care of your hair is an important step we should all take. Let’s face it we have to wear it everyday! 😉

Today I had the honour of being part of something really special.

This beautiful lady chose to cut her hair to honour her mom who recently lost her battle with cancer. In many Indigenous traditions, cutting your hair during times of grief is a way to release pain, show respect, and mark a deep moment of change and healing.

As a hairstylist, we cut hair every day… but moments like this remind me that sometimes it’s so much more than just a haircut. It’s love. It’s remembrance. It’s strength.

Thank you for trusting me to be part of such a meaningful moment.

And can we just talk about how adorable this inverted bob looks on her? It suits her perfectly.

Colour transformations are definitely one of my favourites. You can totally change a look by just adding a bit of colour. A tone shift or so blending lowlights or even some subtle highlights.

This cold, yucky weather has me focusing in on the importance of taking time for you. To turn inward and just relax. Taking time for you is not selfish it’s necessary.

I am now offering access bars sessions for $60 a session. Sessions usually last anywhere from 45 mins to an hour. It’s a great way to unwind and just be in the moment.
