Today, my beautiful girl turns 20. 🩷

Twenty years ago, when I was just 22, you were born on the other side of the world in New Zealand… and from that moment on, my life was forever changed.

Over the years, we have spent more hours than I can count on aeroplanes travelling back and forth to visit family overseas and going on adventures together as a family. ✈️🌎 From New Zealand to England, to Spain and Canada and all the places in between, we have made so many memories.

We've also been through things together that have made us stronger, and while not every part of our story is for social media, you know, and I know, just how far we've come. Watching you grow into the fierce, kind young woman you are today makes me prouder than you will ever know.

Sassy, adventurous, strong as an ox and an avid cleaner… something your sister definitely doesn't quite take after you in 😂 But I think we all know that already lol.

But truly, today is a little emotional for me. Somehow, my baby isn’t a baby anymore. You’re not even a teenager anymore.😭

You are a young woman.

And while I am bursting with pride watching the person you have become, time has flown by far too fast. 🥹

More than anything, my greatest wish for you and your sister is simply to be happy. To be independent and confident enough to stand on your own two feet. To know your worth, chase your own dreams, create the life you want and never feel that you need to depend on anyone else to give you the things you are capable of building for yourselves.

YOUtopia is growing… and so am I. ✨

When I started YOUtopia, I didn’t have a business plan or a team. I had a dream, a rented room, a lot of heart and a belief that I could build something meaningful.

I was still working full-time at the hospital while building YOUtopia — even opening during COVID before eventually moving to part-time and taking the leap to leave the hospital last August to fully commit to what I had built.

YOUtopia grew. FAST. What started small became a growing medical spa with a lot more moving parts.

I’ll be honest, there have been many times I’ve felt overwhelmed and burnt out trying to wear all the hats: owner, clinician, social media, bookings, admin and team leader, while also trying to be present for my family and life outside of YOUtopia. It's definitely a lot harder than I imagined.

I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported YOUtopia along the way. To our past and present team members who have helped shape this business thank you. 💗

As we grew, I knew I needed to step back and create more structured and streamlined processes, but finding the time to do that while running the business was extremely challenging.

So I invested in the next chapter...

For the past few months, I’ve been working with a medspa business consultant, and last week we spent an entire week putting that work into action.

We now have an official YOUtopia Manual with our policies, procedures, protocols and systems — and our consultations are about to get even more exciting…🙌 👀

Because the goal is always the same: to make our clients feel educated, supported and confident in their decisions. 💗

And there’s even more happening behind the scenes… new YOUtopia team members are coming soon! 👀
