❤️💫 Why choose Swiss Water decaf instead of the traditional chemically decaffinated coffee beans? 💫❤️

We're often asked why we chose Swiss Water process for our decaf. The answer reflects who we are as a Canadian roaster. So first, not all coffee is the same. While we pick Peru for it's organic certification, we know The beans themselves are exceptional. They carry bright stone fruit notes and subtle spice that most decafs lose entirely. We want to keep that for you to enjoy, so we avoid chemical solvents and concentrates that remove most of the caffeine. Though cheaper, the bean does not emerge unscathed. Enter Swiss Water, which despite the name, decafs tens of thousands of coffees a year right outside of Vancouver.
Unlike chemical solvents, Swiss Water uses only water and temperature to remove caffeine. It's a 10-hour process that preserves the bean's cellular structure and flavor compounds. Yes, it costs more. Yes, it takes longer. But it's the only decaffeinate method we're willing to put our name behind. Swiss Water gives us a way to honor what we care about. Great coffee, with a local connection, and in this case without the caffeinated jolt.

From Vancouver Island to Drumheller, our road trip has been amazing. We are so blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the world. We may have 4785 mosquito bites and our car may be on the verge of exploding from all of the stuff we've crammed in, but we've made some pretty epic memories.
