🚨ONTARIO SMALL-BUSINESS Owners: HOW DO I CHECK + REGISTER? 🗳️

Ontario’s municipal voters’ lists have now been prepared, so as of September 1, 2026, changes are handled by your local Municipal Clerk.

First, check the voters’ list for the municipality where you personally own or rent property.

If you’re already there:
Make sure your name, qualifying property address and mailing information are correct.

If you’re NOT there:
Contact that municipality’s Clerk and ask to be added to the voters’ list as a non-resident elector.

You’ll need to show that you’re eligible. A lease or rental agreement is one of Ontario’s accepted documents showing your name and address.

For my situation:

🏠 I live and vote in Port Hope as a resident elector.

💆🏻‍♀️ I personally lease my treatment space in Cobourg, so I can apply to be registered there as a non-resident elector.

FOR COBOURG:

🔎 Check your registration at CobourgVotes.ca

If you need to be added or make a correction, contact the Town of Cobourg Clerk’s Office:

📍 Victoria Hall, 55 King Street West
📞 905-372-4301
📧 [email protected]

Cobourg says you’ll need your name, date of birth and property address to check your registration, and additional ID is required to add or update information.

(I’ve just done that so…. 🤞🏻🤞🏻)

For anywhere else in Ontario, search your municipality’s 2026 election page or contact its Clerk directly.

And don’t wait until Election Day if you can help it. Getting yourself on the list ahead of time makes the whole process much easier.

🗳️ CHECK. REGISTER. VOTE. 💜

If you personally own or rent your business space somewhere other than where you live, check your eligibility.

Then send this to another Ontario small-business owner. They might have a vote they didn’t know they had. 💜

Disclaimer:
Eligibility depends on individual circumstances. The Municipal Clerk makes the final determination.

Many voices make beautiful music and many hands make lighter work…

Have your say and support candidates that are rooted in community and care. 💜

We don’t should on ourselves... 💩

One of the many little nuggets I’ve picked up in therapy, and one I’m realizing I need to practice…

A LOT!!! 🫠💩

It’s amazing how often we carry around a whole invisible list of shoulds:

I should do this.
I should have done that.
I should be better at this.
I should really get around to that…

I’m trying to practice something different:

Do it or don’t do it. But STOP shoulding on yourself, Amanda!

If it needs to be done, do it.
If you’re choosing not to do it, own that too.
And maybe skip the extra layer of guilt and judgment we like to sprinkle on top. 😉

Yesterday, I did not wash my hair.

Today, I am going to have a shower and wash it with plenty of time to spare.

Neither required a moral assessment of my character. 🤣

Happy Feel Good Friday, friends.

AND Happy long weekend to those who get one. Can’t quite believe September is already here…💜

XO, Amanda

September 1st. 🍂♍️💜

Virgo season. My birthday month. My favourite month. A new page.

Coming home from a beautiful few days away with my heart very full and reflecting on how differently I’m able to experience things now.

I’m deeply grateful for the work I’ve done, and continue to do, in therapy. For learning to see things differently. To trust my own inner wisdom. To meet myself with more curiosity, compassion and care.

And maybe most importantly, to keep becoming the safe, healed adult I wish had been available to me when I was younger.

For myself first. And hopefully, through how I live and how I care, for the people around me too, personally and professionally.

Not finished.
Not fixed because I was never broken…
Still becoming. ✨

But entering September with a whole lot of gratitude for how far I’ve come, where I am, and wherever I’m going next. 💜

Humans are funny about names, eh? 🫠

We name things to understand them. To organize them. Sometimes, to claim them. And then we get strangely attached to those labels, as though changing the words somehow changes the thing itself.

Call it what you want… it doesn’t change what it is.

The sun still rises.
The water still moves.
The horizon still takes my breath away.

Names can matter because they shape how we perceive, value and treat things. And when something or someone has the ability to tell us what they are called, I think we should listen with respect.

But a label doesn’t create or change the beauty…

This morning and always, still Lake Ontario. Home… 🇨🇦

Beautiful as ever. 💜

A sunny walk down to Lake ONTARIO, soaking up the last bits of August and a week of endings + beginnings… 💜

Last Road to Cultivate was fantastic and now we count down to Cultivate Festival at the end of September! 🍁

Our 7AM Feel Good crew Feel Good Company also said “see ya later” to Brodie Brodie Johnston , who’s off to first year at Trent. 🎓💪

Hurry hard, my friend!
Go get ’em! 🥌

And last night I got my Yay for Bray sticker in support of Amelia Bray Amelia Bray - Port Hope Council for Port Hope Council. So exciting to see wonderful women stepping up to lead and care for our local community. 💜

Sending love from East Beach, Port Hope on the beautiful northern shore of…

LAKE ONTARIO

…forever and ever. 🌊🇨🇦

Here’s to endings that make room for beginnings. ✨

August’s Sturgeon Moon over Lake Ontario 🌕💜

Walking down in the dark just to have a look before bed…

Feeling incredibly grateful that this is a view I get to call home. 💜

The full moon peaks just after midnight tonight (reaches its exact peak at 12:18 a.m. EDT, Friday, August 28)…

and apparently, we’re even getting a little lunar eclipse magic along with it at about 12:12am!

I will be seeing that in my dreams… but I’m sure some talented photo fairy night owl (I’m looking at you Lee 😉💜) will capture it if the sky is clear tonight. 🤞🏻

Hello (almost) FULL MOON 💜

XO, Amanda
