Dolly has a way of making it sound so simple.
The truth is, none of us know what’s around the corner. And honestly, there have been plenty of times I wanted some kind of guarantee before making the next move.
I wanted to know it would work. That I wouldn’t regret it. That I wasn’t about to make my own life harder.
But that’s not how any of this works.
You keep showing up. You take the chance. You stay in the game.
Not because you know you’ll win, but because you know you can’t win if you take yourself out before you find out.
So I guess I’m still here to see what’s around the corner.
Experience is really just a collection of things you survived and decided never to do again 😂
I still love doing hair. I’m just no longer willing to be starving, running behind and in physical pain to prove how much I love it.

There’s actually a reason a hair appointment can feel like such a reset.
For a few hours, you step out of your regular routine. You’re not answering emails, cleaning the house, taking care of everyone else or staring at the never-ending list in your head.
Someone else is taking care of you.
You get human connection, a little physical touch, conversation if you want it, quiet if you don’t, and the excitement of seeing yourself look refreshed again.
Hair is also tied so closely to how we see ourselves. When it feels good, we tend to stand a little taller, feel more put together and show up with more confidence.
So no, a hair appointment doesn’t fix your whole life.
But sometimes sitting down, being cared for and leaving feeling like yourself again is exactly the little reset your brain needed.

Owning a salon has been one long lesson in people, communication and realizing that the problem is not always the thing you originally thought it was.
Some lessons were expensive. Some were embarrassing. All of them changed the way I lead now.
