The Beauty and Salon industry uses countless products every day—shampoo bottles, hair-colour tubes, cream containers, plastic sachets, gloves, foils, packaging and other synthetic materials. When these empty containers and casings are carelessly thrown here and there, they become part of the growing mountain of waste that pollutes our soil, water and air.
Beauty should never come at the cost of destroying the planet that gives us life.
We can make a difference by choosing eco-friendly and recyclable packaging, reducing unnecessary plastic, reusing containers wherever possible, separating waste at the salon, sending recyclable materials to proper recycling facilities, and educating our staff and clients about responsible disposal.
Every salon, beautician, hairstylist and beauty professional has the power to become an environmental ambassador. Even one small change—one less plastic container thrown away, one more item recycled, one client educated—can contribute to a much bigger change.
