Today I got to wander through Tiff’s absolutely glorious garden of Tiff’s Cottage Garden 🇦🇺 and honestly the video footage doesn’t even come close 🌸
Flowers EVERYWHERE. Around every corner there was something else blooming, climbing, spilling over and just being fabulous . It made me want to go home, rip everything out and get growing!
Amazingly, Tiff has opened her garden to visitors! If you’re nearby, it’s open tomorrow and again next weekend, and entry is just $5.
Go and take a look. It’s bloody beautiful. 🌿🌸

I’m always late to trends but this one was worth it! Bananarama will be on repeat for the rest of this week at least 🫶🩷📻
PLANTAIN // You’ve probably walked over this herb 1000 times. It’s probably growing in your backyard right now.
Plantain is a super useful herb that grows in lawns, gardens, paddocks, pathways and cracks in the driveway and most people think it’s just a w**d.
But plantain has a long history in herbal medicine, particularly for bites, stings, minor wounds, grass irritations and inflamed skin.
Fresh leaves have traditionally been crushed into a poultice and applied directly to the skin or if you’re out and about chewed into a very glamorous spit poultice 😂
Internally, plantain has traditionally been used as a soothing and astringent herb for irritated tissues and mucus membranes, including in herbal preparations for:
🪴 coughs and irritated respiratory passages
🪴 sore or irritated throats
🪴 digestive irritation
🪴 urinary tract irritation
🪴 seasonal respiratory complaints
And externally herbalists reached for it for
🪴 insect bites and stings
🪴 minor cuts, scratches and grazes
🪴 irritated, itchy or inflamed skin
🪴 minor wounds
🪴 drawing style poultices for splinters and similar little skin thingies
You can use the fresh plant straight from the garden to make poultices, teas, tinctures, infused oil, salves, washes and compresses and the young leaves are edible too.
A super adorable and equally versatile plant.

Nostalgic Plantain // Plantain will be stocked in the shop late this afternoon (which I was filming for you) so when I saw this little beauty flowering in the neighbours driveway I couldn’t help but duck next door and play.

August 2026 // Oomph, what a month… 😮💨
August was LONG and had lots of ups and downs. The internal battery bank was running down in the red all month. But the nice thing was that everything that seemed ginormous or like it was going to fall through turned around like a beautiful twist of fate. Thank you Universe/Gaia/God/higher power!
September is shaping up to be another big month but I’m ready for it!
I’m looking forward to a little slower pace over next few months… I hope…
The bathroom was the biggest one ticked off the list for me. Showering at the Showgrounds or sponge baths by the fire was a novelty that wore off around week 3. I’m so pleased to say those days are done and we’re bathing at home again after around 7 weeks.
Next big items are the shed and carport and getting earthworks sorted for the pads. The concrete lined gal water tanks are being crushed and taken away and the last of the bathroom renovation being finished off.
I’m also hoping to get the kitchen benchtop replaced this month and I’d like to source some nice old French doors for the bathroom.
And some sleep. I’d like to get some sleep.

Literally… last night… so I didn’t die of mosquitos sleeping with the windows open… because apparently it’s the middle of summer already. Who knew! 🤷🏼♀️

TSW // It was only a few short years ago but I push it out of my mind, right into the very far back corner along with a box of other grief and s**t I hide in there.
I’ve never shared this photo before. It felt too much. It felt
like people wouldn’t be able to handle it. That they’d judge me for it. That they’d say I shouldn’t share things like that on social media.
But why the f**k not?
My son and I lived through this hell every single day, hour,
minute, second until we got out the other side of it.
He had literally just woken up when I took this photo. He’d
wandered out to find me before I’d cleaned his crusted eyes, tended to his face or changed his weep-stained, dirty clothes.
I only tell you that because I don’t want anyone thinking I
simply left him like this. But I also don’t want to pretend that cleaning him up made everything better, because it sure as hell didn’t.
His clothes would be changed then he’d be back to rubbing
his face against his sleeves again. His skin would ooze constantly. Things would crust. I’d clean him up, change him, care for his skin… and then I’d do it all over again.
So yeah, this photo caught him at his worst first thing in
the morning. But the truth is, he spent a lot of his days looking like this. My poor little man.
That was our life.
And we had to live it at the hands of terrible advice, so
why shouldn’t the world know?
Chances are you’ve also been prescribed steroids at one
point or another. Did they tell you there are side effects to topical steroid use?
Did they tell you that skin can become so damaged it weeps serous fluid and plasma? Because Jude’s did. Constantly.
Or did they just hand you a prescription, tell you how to
apply them and move on to their next 7 minute consult?
Topical steroids change lives… and NOT always for the
better.
Ask questions. Do your OWN research. Informed consent
matters.

Whip Lumberjack // The tallow balm I’ve been neglecting to tell you about 😂
I really do need to spend more time explaining my products and what I do but truth be told, I hate marketing. It’s one of my least favourite parts of what I do.
I always feel icky talking about my business and my products like I’m selling you something but really, I just have to keep reminding myself that my products are actually helping real people each and every single day.
I probably need to sit and do some more deep soul searching and inner work (like I haven’t had to do enough of that over the last few years… great) and reframe the way I look at my beautiful offerings. Because I know they’re helping people everyday… so why shouldn’t I share about them 🤷🏼♀️
