3 things I would never do to my skin after 10 years as a skin specialist.
1. Skip my nighttime routine. No matter what. Imagine going to sleep with everything your skin collected throughout the day still on your face. Makeup. SPF. Pollution. Oxidised sebum. All of it pressing into your pillow for 8 hours while your skin tries to repair. Your nighttime routine is not optional.
2. Use the same products all year round without reassessing. Your skin changes with the seasons, your hormones, and your age. The routine that worked two years ago may be exactly why your skin has plateaued. I reassess regularly and so should you.
3. Skip SPF. The most simple step. Definitely not the least important. UV drives pigmentation, premature ageing, and collagen breakdown without exception. Every treatment is an investment. SPF is what protects it.
Healthy skin is not about doing everything. It is about doing the right things consistently.
Are you guilty of any of these? ๐ฟ
Skin barrier damage is real. And most people do not know they have it.
It is doing the most for you. Are you doing the same for it?
When your barrier is working, your skin looks calm, even, and hydrated. When it is not, everything falls apart. Tight after cleansing. Breakouts that never clear. Products that suddenly stop working.
That is not your skin being difficult. That is your barrier asking for help.
What breaks it down: harsh cleansers, too many actives, over-exfoliating, fragrance, and no SPF.
What brings it back: the right cleanser, ceramides, niacinamide, SPF every day, and treatments that work with your barrier.
Almost every skin concern I see at Feel Good Skin and Laser starts here. Fix the barrier first. Everything else follows.

Acne scars are not all the same. And they do not all respond to the same treatment.
It started with a personalised consultation. I looked at this client's skin specifically. The type of scarring, what was driving it, and what her skin could handle. Every step followed from what I found.
PIH is the dark mark left behind after a breakout. Textural scarring is deeper damage to the skin surface. Both need completely different approaches.
The plan I built: active acne stabilised first, pigment correction with daily SPF for the dark marks, skin needling to resurface the textural damage, and home care to hold results between sessions.
This result came from the right diagnosis, a personalised plan, and consistency.

Acne and acne scars are two different problems. They need two different plans.
Active acne is driven by excess sebum, blocked pores, P. acnes bacteria, and inflammation. Treating it means addressing all four. Not just drying the skin out.
Acne scars on brown and olive skin fall into two categories. PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) is the dark mark left behind after a breakout. It responds to pigment correction and daily SPF. Textural scarring is damage at a deeper level and responds to skin needling, which stimulates new collagen to resurface the area.
The most important thing: treating active acne and protecting skin from UV while working on the marks at the same time. Every unprotected UV exposure undoes PIH progress.
At Feel Good Skin and Laser, we build a plan that addresses both. In the right order.

Most people spend the least thought on their cleanser. And it is the step that affects everything that comes after it.
When you cleanse with the wrong formula, you strip your skin barrier of its natural oils and disrupt its pH. The result: tight, dull skin that produces more oil to compensate, absorbs actives less effectively, and on brown and olive skin, becomes more prone to PIH.
At Feel Good Skin and Laser, the cleanser is almost always the first thing we review in a consultation. A formula matched to your skin type, pH between 4.5 and 6, no sulfates if dry or reactive, fragrance-free if prone to pigmentation.

You have probably heard of skin needling. Bio Needling takes the results further.
Standard needling creates micro-channels that trigger your body's collagen and elastin response. Bio Needling does all of that and infuses a bioactive complex directly into the skin through the open channels. Polynucleotides, growth factors, and skin-regenerating actives that signal your cells to repair at an accelerated rate.
Clients who move from standard to Bio Needling consistently report faster visible improvement, deeper rejuvenation, and more significant texture and firmness change over the same number of sessions.
Particularly effective for textured skin, acne marks, PIH, fine lines, and anyone planning ahead for a wedding or event.
