Are you struggling with neck and shoulder pain or tightness?
According to TCM(traditional Chinese medicine), there are different reasons you may have this issue.
1, blockage of Qi(energy) and blood
The smooth flow of Qi and Blood is blocked along the main energy pathways (meridians) passing through the shoulders and neck.
2, Exposure to wind, cold and excessive dampness
• Coldness tightens muscles and tendons. Cold wind, air conditioning, coastal breezes and damp chilly weather easily cause stiffness in neck or shoulders.
• Dampness creates a heavy, dragging sensation such as sore heavy shoulders and headaches on rainy days
3, Chronic strain & poor posture (The No.1 cause for modern people)
Constant phone scrolling(text neck), desk work, ill-fitting pillows keep neck muscles tensed all day long. Over time, blood and vital energy stagnate and get blocked.
4, Late nights, poor sleep, and aging
The liver regulates tendons and muscles, the kidneys regulate bones.
Staying up late, overwork and aging weaken your physical foundation. Tendons and bones lack nourishment, losing strength and resilience over time .
5, Excess sweet, greasy and cold food
Frequent cold drinks, desserts and fried foods burden the spleen and stomach. Undigested damp waste accumulates around the neck and shoulders.
Persistent tiredness and drowsiness can be from what you eat.
