⨠Throwback Video â¨
In this video, Iâm answering some of your questions about a Baroque draping design I created! Iâm talking all about velvet fabric, the width of the drapes, choosing the proper length, and designing the bottom of the drapes.
If youâre interested in creating a beautiful Baroque design, these are some important details that can make a big difference in the overall look! â¨
⨠Trying Another Baroque Draping Technique! â¨
In this video, Iâm trying out another Baroque technique that I call the Wrap-Around Technique! This is when the swags wrap around the uprights, creating a completely different look.
For this design, I took two crescent-shaped swags and transformed them into jumbo-sized swags by wrapping them around the uprights. At the bottom, I added a pinching technique to the drapes.
By combining these techniques, I was able to create so much movement and dimension throughout the design! I love how one technique can completely change the overall look of your draping. â¨
Would you try the Wrap-Around Technique?

đť I had a beary, beary memorable family reunion this past weekend! đťâ¤ď¸
Letâs start with the bears! We held our family reunion in Gatlinburg, TN, and there were bears making appearances all around us! đđť They definitely added an unexpected element to our weekend!
Now, onto the dÊcor! ⨠This was my first time designing a rustic-themed event, and I loved bringing the vision to life with wooden slabs, natural elements, and a warm color palette of burnt orange and hunter green.
Despite the bears continuing to make appearances, I truly enjoyed spending time with family, making memories, and creating the dĂŠcor for our reunion. đťđżđ§Ą
Definitely a reunion I wonât forget! â¤ď¸
Draping Tip Tuesday
When creating a Baroque-style draping design, you may find that pipe cleaners donât always hold your drapes securelyâespecially with heavier fabrics or multiple layers.
Instead, use zip ties to attach your drapes to the uprights. Zip ties provide a much stronger hold, keeping your fabric securely in place so it wonât shift while youâre designing or during the event.
A small change like this can make a big difference in creating a polished, worry-free setup.
đŹ Have you ever used zip ties in your draping designs?
Throwing it back to this elegant wedding backdrop I designed featuring a timeless crisscross draping style. The wedding color palette of dusty blue, white, and silver created a soft, romantic atmosphere.
To complete the look, I added silk florals across the top of the backdrop and styled a sweetheart table in front with a floral table runner, elegant candelabras, and beautiful finishing touches. The symmetrical design and clean, straight lines gave the entire setup a classic and sophisticated feel.
I still love how this design came together! What are your thoughts on this backdrop? Would you choose a symmetrical design like this for your wedding or special event?

Looking for a simple way to make your event entrance more eye-catching? Try adding a valance!
If your entrance design isnât tall enough to create fabric swags, a valance is a great alternative. It adds elegance, creates more visual interest, and beautifully frames the entrance while still leaving plenty of room for guests to walk through comfortably.
Sometimes, itâs the small design details that make the biggest impact.
Have you ever added a valance to one of your event entrances?

Today is my birthday, and Iâm so thankful to God for blessing me with another year of life. â¤ď¸
My heart is full of gratitude for the love, kindness, and thoughtful gifts Iâve been showered with. Every message, prayer, and act of generosity has meant so much to me.
While many years are behind me, Iâm excited for all that God has in store for the future. Hereâs to new opportunities, new blessings, and another year of walking in His purpose.
Thank you to everyone who has helped make today so special. đđâ¨
When I first started designing with flowers, vase arrangements werenât my favorite to create. But over time, Iâve come to appreciate just how meaningful they are. They make beautiful gifts that celebrate the people we love, mark lifeâs special moments, express sympathy, offer encouragement, or simply brighten someoneâs day.
Flowers have a way of saying what words sometimes canât. đ¸
What special occasion would you gift someone a fresh floral arrangement for?

⨠Throwback to one of my favorite designs! â¨
This baby blue, white, and silver backdrop featured a regal crown and an elegant oval picture frame, creating a timeless and luxurious look.
One thing I always recommend: donât buy the cheaper crown. It may seem like a good deal, but itâs much harder to drape because it doesnât have a built-in pocket for the fabric. Investing in a quality crown makes installation easier, gives you a cleaner finish, and saves you time during setup.
Itâs the little detailsâand the right equipmentâthat help create a polished design.
Would you invest in a higher-quality dĂŠcor piece if it made setup easier? Let me know in the comments! đ
