Listen...our Cosmic Creators understood the assignment! 💫

We had such an incredible time with Curlsontheblock creating our very own Galaxy Hair Oils while learning that taking care of our curls can be fun and educational.

Our creators learned about nourishing ingredients like Avocado Oil, Grapeseed Oil, and Sunflower Oil and why using a sealant is so important for helping to keep moisture locked into our hair. Because we don't just want cute curls—we want healthy curls too! 💙✨

And my favorite part? Watching their little personalities shine as they created custom scents and came up with names for their blends. The creativity was truly out of this world! 🌌

Moments like these remind me why I do what I do. Creating spaces where our youth can learn, create, and celebrate the beauty of their curls and themselves will always have my heart.

But don't worry...the fun isn't over yet! 👀

Today, my heart feels full and heavy at the same time.

Father's Day has a way of stirring up all the emotions. I'm deeply grateful for the fathers in my life—my stepdad, my father-in-law, my husband, and the men who have shown up with love, wisdom, protection, and support over the years.

At the same time, I miss my daddy.

Grief is a funny thing. It doesn't always arrive with tears. Sometimes it shows up as a memory, a song, a smell, a laugh you wish you could hear one more time. Sometimes it quietly sits beside gratitude and reminds you that love leaves a mark long after someone is gone.

Lately, I've also been blessed by getting to know my Heavenly Father more intimately. In many ways, He's been meeting me in places I didn't even realize needed healing. And while that doesn't remove the ache of missing my dad, it does remind me that I'm not carrying it alone.

So today, I'm holding space for all of it.

The gratitude. The love. The memories. The healing. The sadness. The grace.

If today is beautiful for you, I'm grateful.

If today is difficult for you, I'm holding space for that too.

This Juneteenth weekend, I'm honoring freedom in another way—by listening to my body, embracing rest, and making space for recovery.

Today, I won't be making it out to the festivities. As much as I love connecting with my community, creating custom blends, and sharing in the joy of these events, my body has made the decision for me.

After weeks of creating, packing, lifting, pouring, blending, and showing up, my body is asking for rest. So today, I'm choosing to listen.

As much as I love serving others, I've learned that we can't pour from an empty cup. Sometimes the most productive thing we can do is pause, recover, and allow ourselves the care we so freely give to everyone else.

While I'll be resting and recharging, I still encourage you to get out and support our community this weekend.

Be sure to stop by as they kick off the season at Charles Cousins Plaza, and don't miss the 16th Annual Juneteenth Celebration hosted by She Who Won't Be Named at 2401 Welton Street. Enjoy the live music, connect with local vendors, discover something new, and celebrate all weekend long.
