FRIDAY FACT.

After any traumatic event, it is common to experience anxiety, fear, sadness, irritability, difficulty sleeping, poor concentration or a constant feeling of being on edge.
These reactions are not a sign of weakness.
They are often the mind’s natural response to an overwhelming experience.
And sometimes, the emotional impact appears days or even weeks after the immediate danger has passed.
So, if you or someone you know is struggling after the floods:
Listen. Don’t judge. Stay connected.
And don’t hesitate to seek professional help.

Taking care of our mental health is just as important as taking care of our physical health.

We care. We listen. We support.

TUESDAY TEACHINGS- "I DON'T LOOK LIKE MYSWLF!"
- this reaction is not necessarily a judgment of the surgical result—it's partly a mismatch between what the brain expects to see and what the eyes are suddenly seeing, especially after removing the external nasal splint.
After rhinoplasty, the brain has a fairly stable internal representation of your face. When the nose changes, even subtly, it changes several visual relationships at once: the nasal tip, shadowing, nasolabial angle, apparent eye spacing, cheek–nose relationship, and overall facial proportions.
Early emotional reactions are real, but they're often reactions to unfamiliarity + swelling + expectation, rather than a reliable assessment of the final result.

FUN FRIDAY FACT!
Did you know?
Rib cartilage has been used in rhinoplasty for over 125 years!
The first reported use of costal cartilage for nasal reconstruction dates back to 1899, when Von Mangoldt used cartilage harvested from the 7th rib.
So, what we sometimes think of as a “modern” technique, is actually more than a century old!

FUN FRIDAY FACT - Conversations with a patient.

13/08/2026

Rhinoplasty isn’t about drastic changes.
It’s about the subtle details that make your features look more refined and harmonious.

The goal isn’t to make you look like a completely different person—but to create a more refined version of you.
