Gel releases heat as it changes from a liquid into a cured coating. If a larger amount cures at once, the heat can feel more intense - especially on naturally thin, damaged or over-filed nails.

To help protect client comfort:

• Use the lamp tested and recommended for the gel system
• Follow the manufacturer’s full curing time
• Keep product thickness controlled
• Use the approved low-heat setting where available
• If a client feels a heat spike, allow them to remove their hand briefly before returning it to complete the required cure

A heat spike shouldn’t be ignored, and briefly removing the hand should never mean shortening the total curing process.
