I HAVE to do reset where I restock, wipe down all cracks n crevices & disinfect what’s needed to ensure that my clients have a smooth experience in a clean space that feels comfortable.
I clean before and each appointment/day but there’s something about a spring clean that does itches my brain 😍
It is 🔑 that we are maintaining a hygienic space / equipment as we deal with the sticky hands and human body which sheds skin cells, dandruff, sweat and oil. Of course we only deal with clean hair, but naturally that is what the body does !

TENDERHEAD FRIENDLY - I’ve been braiding hair since primary school, and over the decades we’ve developed experience working with different hair types, textures and techniques.

It’s so important that you start your child’s maintenance as young as possible. It really helps them adapt to having hands in their head and lessens the sensitivity over time (unless tender-headed).
Our little princess came for the first time a few months ago and she was an angel but she still fidgeted and winged a little bit. (Of course, shes only 2 aha) We have done her hair twice.
2 months later, she came back ready! She sat so well and was so happy to see me 🥺😅
As you can see, those first set of braids in June were nice but they were not the neatest as the back of her hair still needed to grow.
Only 2 months later and her braids look clean and tidy. Not only was I easily able to braid it down, she sat so well and we were able to do a mini BUN ! Growth 😅 Mum and I were sooo proud.
After this style, we will give her hair a break, trim and redo once she goes back to nursery. THIS is the start to a healthy hair journey.

OVERDUE ! My client has been to me a couple times for braids. She told me that she really needed a trim and when she showed me I could see exactly why.
She had keratin texture release and had bleached her hair thinking it was semi-permanent. This, in addition to poor maintenance caused her hair to become very dry, damaged and eventually died/snapped off over time.
She saw this every time she washed or brushed her hair, noticing excessive shedding and zero length retention.
When we had our consultation, she stated that her priority was length and how she’d held onto the dead ends as it was easier to put in a bun. I explained that as long as she keeps the dead ends, her hair will never be able to truly thrive.
She agreed and was finally ready to instruct me to cut of ALL of the damage. The only thing is the hair towards the top/crown was completely dead and there was not as much growth as there was in the back. So to avoid a drastic change (pixie/bixie cut length) where she cannot style her hair, we will cut most of the dead ends and let the blonde grow out and we’ll trim that over time.
We discussed, adequate cleansing, treatments, regular trims and protective styles. As you can see, she has BEAUTIFUL hair and we will get it to the stage she wants it to. It will just take, time, care & patience.

Braids can last many weeks when maintained well. Just please make sure that you are washing your hair regularly (weekly-biweekly and yes that applies to EVERYONE). Hair cannot thrive without a clean environment ! Any trichologist can confirm.
