Cranking the dial up doesn’t just melt your hair’s keratin protein—it can actually cause the water inside the hair shaft to flash-boil, leading to permanent structural breakage!

​The trichologist truth? There is no "one-size-fits-all" temperature. The right heat setting depends entirely on your hair’s texture and health:
​Fine, Bleached, or Chemically Treated Hair: Never exceed 300°F – 325°F (150°C – 160°C).
​Medium, Normal Hair: Stay between 350°F – 375°F (175°C – 190°C).
​Coarse, Thick, or Virgin Afro Hair: Up to 400°F (200°C), but always do a strand test first!
​Golden Rules to Remember:
​If you hear sizzling or see steam, the temperature is too high.
​Never linger—pass the tool through smoothly and quickly.
​Always prep with a quality heat protectant.
