Can you get a sunburn through a window or on a cloudy day?
Yes. Glass blocks UVB rays but does not block UVA rays which are present year-round, even on cloudy days. UVA penetrates deeply into the skin and can cause skin cancers and premature aging of the skin.
Advice: Wear your tinted sunscreen daily even if you are indoors, driving or it’s cloudy outside.

Hand Rejuvenation. Do your hands match your face?
Youthful hands are plump, smooth and free of pigment spots. With aging, we lose supporting collagen and fat. The result is thin, wrinkly skin and prominent veins and tendons. After years of sun exposure, rough spots and discolouration occur.
Prevention:
Sun protection, moisturizers, antiaging products such as retinol and vitamin C serum, protective gloves for house and yard work.
Treatments:
HA fillers to replace lost volume and plump the skin.
IPL and lasers to treat sun damage and smooth the skin.

Pool chlorine extracts moisture from hair and can alter the pigment in blonde or colour-treated hair.
Tips for preserving your colour before swimming:
1. Pre-soak your hair thoroughly with tap water to lessen chlorine absorption.
2. Apply a protective coat of rich conditioner.
3. Tie up your hair in a braid or bun and wear a swim cap.
4. Keep your head out of the water as much as possible.
5. Rinse your hair with tap water right after swimming.
6. Use a clarifying shampoo and conditioner.
