🖤 My name is Sydney Walker and I hope to have the pleasure of becoming your ride or die hairstylist! Ive been in the beauty industry professionally for almost 9 years and it blows my mind that it’s been that long already! In high school I was a huge theatre nerd and did a lot of costume character design. One production I did they created “Best Hair and Makeup design” in the zone because my 1920s gypsies were just to good not to win one. That’s when the spark happened. I attended a makeup academy in Calgary earning a diploma and my ITEC certification, which means an international qualification that is valid in 39 countries throughout the world. Focusing in film and photography. Then I attended MC collage in Calgary full time for hair. I put in alot of extra hours that resulted in graduating 3 weeks early! When I started my career I wanted to take every opportunity possible that was given to me. I have travelled to Toronto, Victoria, Phoenix, Orlando and all over Alberta for countless education classes. Let alone online education and courses just so I can make sure I’m always in the know so I can provide the best experience as possible! Education is at my core. I’m my spare time you can find me reading fantasy books and cuddling my two fur babies Eevee and Meeko. Im a huge concert and music enthusiast, I love the mountains, trying to bake and cooking new things and if I could describe my aesthetic it would be goth glam? Least that’s how my boyfriend describes it. Dark colours but anything sparkly. Basically I say he calls me a crow. 🤔
Anyways I don’t want to make this a mile long either. If you have made it this far I appreciate and applaud you cause my adhd definitely would have kicked in. I’ve loved creating for as long as I can remember. Before makeup, it was acrylic paint and a blank canvas. That’s where I first learned that every brushstroke could tell a story.
Now my canvas just happens to smile back at me.
